The Strudlhof Palais is situated in the middle of the traditional Serviten Quarter and at the heart of the city’s intellectual centre, just 10 minutes by foot from the inner city. In the neighborhood you will find the Vienna Volksoper, the Liechtenstein Palace, Franz Schubert‘s Birthplace, Sigmund Freud’s House and the main university, as well as trendy and traditional restaurants and bars. The tram that stops near the hotel entrance takes you directly to Vienna’s Heurigen (wine taverns) in Grinzing or Nussdorf.
The Strudlhof is blessed with a quiet, central location and is equipped with all the comforts of a modern urban hotel. Whether on business, as a seminar participant or on family holiday in Vienna, we shall be pleased to welcome you in our house!
The Palais Strudlhof, which now houses our seminar centre, boasts a rich and eventful history. At the beginning of the seventeenth century the renowned painter Peter von Strudl acquired a plot of land and built the Palais, which would later change owners several times. This architectural beauty acquired its current neo-classical form in the late eighteenth century.
Today the Palais Strudlhof is a popular seminar venue, combining history with modernity by offering historic rooms and modern seminar technology.
The Strudlhof Steps are located directly next to our hotel and are a Viennese landmark of worldwide renown. The writer Heimito von Doderer based his novel Die Strudlhofstiege, one of the masterpieces of Austrian literature, on it.
