Adnoc and Thyssenkrupp to explore large-scale ammonia cracking

Thats a good one. Ammonia is one of the frontrunners for the transport of hydrogen from producing regions to consuming regions. Without wanting to belabor the problems of a toxic product there is still the tiny issue of how to convert the ammonia back into hydrogen. We can do it in a laboratory and on a small scale. There are no designs that can do this on the scale required to supply countries with meaningful amounts. New process chains are not designed in months. It takes a lot of engineering, trying, and testing before a design is ready for operation. When did we say we want the hydrogen?
