They are hurting them in two ways. Firstly, European exports (whatever remains of them) become even harder to afford for the world – guess where the world will go looking for alternatives. and the very high cost impoverishes European populations making them less capable of spending money on wares and services from Europe. I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
