I am not an expert on nuclear energy and there surely is a lot that I can’t see or gauge properly but right where I am standing this modular nuclear technology holds a lot of promise. Especially if those reactors are really as self-contained and safe as they are advertised and can be built and maintained in a central processing facility. Its stable power for a high consumption point also relieves the stress on the grid as they would be exactly where the power is needed. And who loves those monster transmission lines that currently have to bring power from production to consumers? I just ask myself how heavy such a modular reactor would be.
