Energy infrastructure is expensive. It takes a while to build and to get it into operational shape and then it often takes decades to earn the monies spent back. Knowing this we also need to keep in mind that whatever the margin you make is, you need to be able to maintain for all those many years. through thick and thin. High prices and low. I have seen a lot of projects planning for the high prices only just to be crushed when low prices come – and they will come. Whatever your market expectation is – spend some time on the low price forecasts too. Don’t be a fair-weather warrior.
