Blackouts Loom in California as Electricity Prices Are ‘Absolutely Exploding’

This moment was certain to come. And it’s not just one moment – it’s a new area of unreliable electricity. We have deluded ourselves into thinking that renewable energy does not destabilize the grid as we feasted on the built-in overcapacity that was originally built to withstand extreme situations. Now, this buffer is gone, we have used it up. As soon as anything out of the ordinary hits the grid, it’s over. How will people deal with 1-hour cuts every day? How will they deal with 1-hour power every day?

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
