Imagine you were in that chaos when they blocked the tunnel. Would you be incensed? More than just slightly I guess. But you trust that the perpetrators will have their day at court which they won’t enjoy so you swallow hard and take it on the chin. Now, you can’t be sure about that anymore. How long until people take things into their own hands? Courts are here to prevent society from descending into mayhem. When they let criminals run, they are not performing their function. Oh, how about civil charges for the damage they caused?
