Bright future for Suriname and Guyana

Theoretically, thats a very nice thing for both countries. They can use some extra cash to ramp up their economies and get their population some goodies developed countries have. That being said, the record is paltry. If you look at every country that has found such resources and made money through export, governments have quickly concluded that they don’t need the people anymore as they make money through oil & gas. Wen your people need to finance the state, you need to be nice to them. But money from outside takes this away. I wish both countries all the best – may they avoid the oil curse.
