Ask an Argentinian or someone from Zimbabwe about inflation – every school kid there knows what it’s about – no formal education needed. Ask a Syrian or an Afghan kid about the value of peace – they will tell you a thing or two about it. Ask a Venezuelan about the value of a functioning medical system. People in developed countries are coddled and spoilt. electricity comes from the wall socket. No further thought. repeated blackouts are very educational. You reap what you sow.

Base-load power means the stuff generated by coal, gas, nuclear and, where nature permits, hydro. Anyone claiming that wind or solar fit within that mix has never seen a sunset or experienced a bur…

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
