China’s recovering oil demand may not be all it seems

Personally, I don’t believe a single figure I get from an open and liberal country. Cheating is deep, rampant, and has gone on for a long time. In opaque countries, it’s much worse and I would assume that everything I see from them must be consumed with a truckload of salt. But in China’s case, I would say that anything we get in terms of information is wrong. China is a disaster waiting to happen. And one-party rule has been replaced with one-man rule. In a sense, Xi needs to decide the color of the toilet paper. Even if he would be the smartest person on Earth (I doubt that) he could not process this. China will blow. Take all projections and throw them into the garbage.

Rise in imports may be more to do with stockpiling ahead of summer than actual increased consumption

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
