Chipmakers lament high taxes and levies on electricity in Germany
When I was a kid I grew up learning that Germany was an export machine and that the high quality of German goods contributed massively to its industrial development. Thats true but so did reliable and affordable energy and a light hand by the government. All those things are gone and not only that barely anyone considers investment in Germany (except as a result of massive public aides) its also the traditional industry that leaves Germany in droves. And what plagues Germany plagues Europe. Germany was a success story when I was a kid, it might be one of Europes failed states when I retire.
