It may be that some of the elites have such designs but I am still not overly worried. I have enough exposure to elites to know how incredibly unorganized they often are. Those who want to create something that’s less than a madhouse do it more for income and self-importance than for real evil domination wishes. In 1991 I was a UN soldier in Syria. We were under constant high alert because of the situation in Iraq. One day I walked on the beach in Tel Aviv and met an Israeli without protective equipment against chemical agents. He told me that Saddam might want to shoot that toward Israel but he is sure Arabs don’t have what it takes to make it real. The same is true for the elites. Let’s not overestimate them too.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
