I am part of a lucky generation. The last generation that grew up without ubiquitous access to electronics everywhere. The last generation to use a dial phone. The last generation that wrote letters on paper, put a stamp on an envelope, and waited for an answer for days and weeks. We spent as much time as we could outdoors. Good weather was great, bad weather was fine, and outright crappy weather was fine too because remaining indoors was boring. The weather was not the factor that made us do what we did. Kids today stay inside because they have a ton of electronic distractions. Even when the weather is great.
