Climate Concern is a Mostly Left Wing Issue

The Austrian Green movement started to earnestly raise its head in the early Eighties. For a start, we had a small plethora of groupings that were to be found strewn across the political divide. In the Nineties, they coalesced into the Green party that exists today. But the political diversity was gone. It was all solidly left and not only left but bordering outright communism. There was no place for green conservatives. And we should not be surprised because as Austria tackled its true environmental problems, Greens needed new issues they could dominate so they needed to instill fear. Socialists work the same way.
