Efuels ‘need policy support’

Most fuel taxation in the EU is broken anyhow. It’s still a volume-based system where a liter of anything is being taxed, not the amount of work one gets out of this liter of whatever. A few years ago we had a situation in Austria where LNG as a fuel for trucks was higher taxed than diesel. LNG is the far cleaner fuel but one Diesel Liter Equivalent of LNG takes about 1,6 times the space that diesel takes. 1,6 times the volume, 1,6 times the taxation, for much less pollution. LNG Europe and LNG Austria fixed that in 18 months of education and lobbying. But there are many other countries and many other fuels.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
