Europe Has No Immediate Alternative To Russia Gas, Putin Says
Sure he says that, what else would he say? But that’s not the entire truth. Europe has alternatives to Russian gas – they just won’t be as easy and require investment in time, effort, and money to unlock. And some of them might be a good deal cheaper than Russian gas. Also, it will be hard to switch off Russian gas with the flick of a finger and replace it. this requires preparation but we are entering the summer now which is a low-demand season. Time we could use to plug the worst holes. And in the meantime, we could get shale and LNG up. And think long and hard about our virtue-signaling while we are at it.
