I am actually surprised that it held up that long. Some members still have some limited leeway when it comes to their finances, some have the roof on fire. Some like geostrategic games, others just want to run their piece of real estate. And then there are those egos. All cartels are fair-weather organisations. When the going gets tough, it’s each for himself.

The UAE almost entirely disregarded its commitment to OPEC+ production quotas last month, according to the International Energy Agency.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
