Germany, Qatar at odds over terms in talks on LNG supply deal -sources
Why would Qatar be obliged to help Germany out? Where was Germany when Qatar found out that LNG was the only viable option to make money from their North Dome gas? The world laughed. Europe laughed. Germany laughed especially hard and felt smug with Russian gas. Qatar did it anyway and kicked the LNG world into high gear when it was not sexy. They spent the money and did the work – now they are in a position to be picky. If Germany wants special favors, it needs to be prepared to give as much.
