Green debate encroaches on natural gas industry meeting in Paris

I have been at countless of those meetings, I have spoken at many of them. It’s always the same jamborees. Back patting, self-congratulation and every time the same old stories. It never changes – a bit like Groundhog day. And now they are worried. Its maybe time the old gas industry goes away and makes place for new players.

For years, Europe’s top natural gas conferences focused on the boom in deliveries of the cleanest fossil fuel. Now, the gathering is starting to consider the risks piling up from the green movement.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
