Ideological movements such as the Green party always have a more idealistic and realistic wing. All political parties have such wings and are pulled between them. But rarely ever are they as fundamentally at loggerheads as they are in the various Green parties. The real problem is that there is this thing called the real world and we all have to live in it. Even the environmental fundamentalists – for quite a while they succeed in convincing a part of society that their extreme demands come at an acceptable price tag – often they claim it’s entirely painless. But reality eventually has its way. It just got a lot more interesting. Grab the popcorn and a beer.

How can it be that the activist without a degree knows more about economics than the economics professor?
