Heatwave Lockdowns Have Arrived

Governments have seen what people are willing to endure. And they were surprised as they expected much sterner opposition. Sure, there was some, but not nearly as tough as they had factored in. Trust me on this one, I talk to politicians and get much of their natural reactions. Now that they have seen how it goes with lockdowns, they will try those for many other things. Not everywhere mind you but there will be those at the leading edge when it comes to showing the people who their masters are. And there will be those opposing this for real. People will vote with their feet.

Outdoor events – including, ironically, annual ‘Resistance’ celebrations – are banned until the officials declare the heatwave is over. They’re even restricting some indoor events that don’t have air conditioning.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
