Burning biomass and calling it “environmentally sustainable” is one of the most horrible travesties of the green movement. Not only is it a peak of inefficiency, but it also kills our forest reserves. But burning forests makes more room for windmills and solar panels so I am sure that greens will see the double benefit here. It won’t take long and we will be burning dried animal feces again to heat our homes. By the way – burning biomass inside is a major cause of African mortality. Maybe we should send a parliamentary mission to Africa to produce a study – one must be prepared. Mustn’t we?
