Hydrogen trade could rely on derivatives

Pure Hydrogen is very hard to store and transport. And very hard always means also very expensive. But the derivatives might indeed offer a route out. The question is – will they be able to do that in volumes that we need or will it be some marketing coup again? Because the really expensive part of hydrogen is not even production – it’s making it available at a place and a time when it’s actually needed from a green source. Ammonia and methanol are not exactly the most traded commodities – and for a reason. But e-Methane could offer a way out. Expensive it will still be but thats hydrogen.
