Insurgency threatens Mozambique’s historic natural gas investment boom

I have a feeling that the insurgency is just the latest of a long row of threats to the Natural gas investment boom for Mozambique. And I also think it’s not the worst problem – that would likely be themselves. I have spent a lot of time in Africa and I love this patch of the planet but it has some very unique challenges that one must work with. You don’t just plan a project in such a country, throw some Local Content in, and thats it. Such projects sweep up so much money that everyone becomes fixated on it. Thats never a good thing.

Mozambique has pinned its economic hopes on an explosion of private investment in colossal natural gas deposits discovered a decade ago.
