Is The U.S. Using Sanctions To Elbow Russia Out Of The European Natural Gas Market?

US LNG producers were never interested in Europe. Not long ago I tried to get some of them interested in the market and all of them told me that they are exclusively geared towards Asia and Latin America. So, its most certainly not the US energy industry that makes the US sanction Russia. Besides, getting Russian gas out of the European gas market would be close to impossible. Plenty of pipelines even if they are sometimes not very easy to use. They are still there.

The U.S. wants to win new natural gas markets in Europe -- a market now dominated by Russia. Is the U.S. using sanctions, unfairly, to gain that access?
