ISIS-linked militants are threatening huge natural gas reserves the world needs badly right now

Mozambique has been the next big thing in LNG for more than 15 years now. One thing people seem to like forgetting is that it’s not only safety thats at stake there, it’s also economics. This is deep water, this is far offshore, this is floating stuff. All on the pricey side. And while the potential volumes are rather large, it’s still a drop in the bucket compared to shale gas. Why be at the mercy of some people that don’t like you very much when you can do all you want at home? Africa still has fundamental problems to deal with.
