Nord Stream 2 Could Sever Transatlantic Ties

Germany must be free to buy its energy from wherever it wants. The US must be free to ask its military partners to step up to their commitments. I expect Germany to do nothing until November hoping that Trump goes away just to find that not only they find themselves with 4 more years Trump but also that the Democrats are dead against the NS2 pipeline. I would say Germany should step up to its military commitments and have the pipeline. There is not going to be a cheap way out.
