OPEC+ is in a horrible bind and I am not sure if they are fully aware of it. The mood clearly is celebratory now and why wouldn’t it be? Prices are high, demand for their wares is stellar, the future is bright. But wait a minute. It looks like shale is slow to catch up but how deceiving they are. There is a shitload of activity in those US shales that don’t depend on federal lands. Those drillers have been sucker-punched many times and they are full of scars, lean, mean, and itching for action. The majors and National Oil companies from OPEC+ are still fat and lazy. Premonitions …

OPEC+ holds both the knife and the cake in the oil market, according to Rystad Energy.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
