Perth weather: City wakes to coldest summer morning in 124 years

My home city Vienna woke up to its first snow this morning. My younger son told me that he had never seen snow this early in the year. Yes, it December but most years we had green Christmas and a wait to January for snow if ever. This winter is also a good deal colder than the 10 preceding ones. There is not a day that goes by without news on unusually cold weather from everywhere on Earth. It’s the Solar Minimum folks. And the Sun is the only significant driver of temperatures here. We might have ticked over to the official start of summer, but Perth residents found themselves reaching for the winter woolies this morning as the city broke temperature records.
