Race Is On to Be the Next Big US Supplier of LNG to Fuel-Starved Europe

OK, I get it. Europe is the new big price out there but European customers are pretty unwilling to sign long-term purchase agreements as they don’t want to politically lock long-term gas in. And without those contracts, the LNG projects cannot take FID as they have no collateral to borrow the monies required. But how about looking at something stable that will last them decades rather than running after the next glitzy thing? Because the European Bonanza won’t last. They will want their Russian gas back and they will get it – eventually. LNG projects need to learn to develop economically sound projects instead of one-hit wonders.
