I don’t want to pin this on tesla only. They just happen to produce those most iconic battery packs. Imagine a high-rise building that has some of those in its basement to balance power production. Could we save the building? How long would it take us the extinguish the flames? Would people have the time to evacuate in case of a problem? Who wants to live with this?

Giant lithium-ion batteries are said to be the saviour of intermittent wind and solar. But their pesky habit of exploding into toxic fireballs suggests that they’re not really part of the ‘inevitab…

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
