It’s NIMBY by other means. Biden knows very well what would happen to green activists were they to go to any OPEC country and make a ruckus there. We need not worry as they know it as well and besides, it’s so much nicer to mess up people’s lives in democratic countries than where it really hurts. And besides, shoveling money towards OPEC countries might just open some interesting perspectives to those able to thrive in such wetlands.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
