The Moon: Water ice may be more common than previously thought

There is a reason why the new starts of the world of space transportation have chosen methane and not hydrogen to be the fuel of choice. Methane is much easier to handle as it does not cause metal fatigue once it touches it. That’s critical if you want a spacecraft that’s reusable. Hydrogen tanks wear down very fast – in a reuseable vehicle that’s an issue.  It’s also a lot easier to store and much more economical. But we will need a source of carbon on the moon. Carbon is a molecule of life. The Moon knows.
