I bet those communities are still all served by the legacy grid that has plenty of reliable (aka fossil) energy in it to prevent it from going down. Or am I wrong? Does anyone actually know. I have seen companies that claimed they are 100% renewable. In reality, all of them are connected to the same grid as we are and they pay some money for bragging rights. In my book, all those companies and cities would be taken off the grid at once. Let them have only what they claim they like so much.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
