Let me put it this way: doing stuff in a warzone produces costs that you don’t have when you operate in a region that is at peace. Doing stuff in the middle of nothing is more expensive than doing stuff right in the heart of a developed nation. One of the best things about shale is that you do it right at home. No militants (maybe some crackpot greenies but nobody with an RPG) and no building of basic infrastructure required.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
