US says it has thwarted US$6 bil Russia-Germany gas pipeline

Almost 4 years ago, when Donald Trump was not yet elected POTUS, I had bet with a small group of people that NS2 would not be operational before January 1st, 2020. Everyone – really everyone – opposed me on that. Everyone was absolutely convinced that this is a done deal. I saw economic problems creep up as this is just one more piece to finance in a modernization of Russian gas that has cost a fortune so far. If Gazprom could have afforded to finance it alone, it would have gone without international partners. Russia now finds out geopolitical gambles carry a price tag.
