‘We need to be ready for a new world’: scientists globally react to Trump election win

Those who see the election of Trump as a good thing (I am most certainly one of them) tend to believe that the savior is here and everything will be alright. We tend to underestimate the size of the problem—the size of the opponent. I am willing to believe that the Trump team will do what’s possible, and will do vastly better than the first Trump term team. But they are not magicians. Most people are not aware of what science is. We have gotten used to so much woo-woo in science that it’s hard to draw a line between what’s solid and what’s mumbo-jumbo. A good start would be refuting everything that’s based on models, assumptions, theorems, and consensus as pure speculation. Facts must be directly observable. Can we get rid of the conjecture first?
