What the UK should (but will not) do to address the energy crisis

Just a few days ago, a friend of mine told me that now that we have hit the bottom, the only way is up. I told him that at the end of WW2, my father and his family lived in a hole in the ground and stole food from soldiers to survive in Vienna, and yet, they were the lucky ones as they had a place and some food. We are a bunch of coddled, overfed whiners and we have no clue of how low it really goes. My parents are war generation – they knew suffering. The boomers knew no such thing. And no one after them. We will be surprised by how low the limbo bar can go.
