$300 trillion is needed to stop global warming, and that’s a bargain

300 trillion – come on. Why so shy? Let’s make that 30 quadrillions. It really does not matter as both sums will throw the world out of whack so much that we will have to completely deconstruct our welfare states to the bone. No niceties such as social security or a pension anymore – it’s hard work until death. And there is another reason why the sum does not really matter – it won’t do anything to the climate. Because the climate does not care what mere ants emit in CO2. It’s a whisp, so tiny that we don’t want to express it in percentage points. We need parts per million to make the numbers look somehow biggish.

As shockingly large as this number may seem, it’s minimal compared with the likely price tag for doing nothing.
