99.2% of Swiss National Bank Shareholders Just Rejected a Green Investment Push

Switzerland has been the most pragmatic country in the entire European continent for a very long time. How does this happen? Are the Swiss some sort of superhumans that can rein in the worst in us? Not at all. They are just like any of us and also give in to the worst fears and reflexes. But the Swiss always distrusted the political class way more than anyone else in Europe. They are a true confederation and the federal government plays a very minor role in their daily lives. Whatever idiotic policy makes it to the forefront is almost instantly exposed to reality checks and after some time running after the next fad, its own consequences bring it down.

The Swiss National Bank (SNB) on Friday rejected requests from environmental activists to alter its investment policy and quit investments in companies they say pollute the planet.
