With shale, oil sands and all those discoveries to the south the Americas are a world to itself. The new, more regional, much less global world will concentrate on what it has in what basins. Latin America would benefit massively from more US economic involvement. The US would too. Distance does matter. Welcome to the oil & gas world Surinam. Oil and gas company Apache Corporation has made a 'significant oil discovery' at the Sapakara West-1 well drilled offshore Suriname on Block 58.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
