150 Million in order to build a 10K tpa plant? Thats steep. Thats 15 billion for a 1mtpa plant or if we equate that to Gorgon LNG, the most expensive real estate on the planet that would be way beyond 200 billion USD. This comparison is certainly “apples and coconuts” and I don’t know the economics of hydrogen but if the rest of the chain shows similar numbers, liquid hydrogen mobility will only be for the very wealthy.
Air Liquide will build the first world scale liquid hydrogen production unit dedicated to the hydrogen energy markets, located in the western U.S., and has signed a long-term agreement with FirstElement Fuel Inc (FEF) to supply hydrogen to FEF’s retail liquid hydrogen fueling stations in California.
