Can the UK decarbonise power by 2035?

What are the chances for any leading politician to still be in power in 2035? Yes, I know. There were examples of really long-lived leaders of state but we are talking about 14 years and that pedigree is rare. Politicians know that. Moreover, they tend to push any issue into the future as it takes care of it right here and now for them and if they ever have to respond to anything in the future, they will simply lie as they have always done. Decarbonised power for Britain is as realistic as accidentally stumbling upon little green fellows on Mars.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
