Climate Model Democracy
The one core issue I always had with democracy is that there are too many voters that will support all kinds of feel-good causes without having real skin in the game. As a citizen of a country, you sort of have always skin in the game as the consequences of bad decisions will have to be borne by everyone. However, if one is young and has not yet contributed, has felt the pain of building something that’s not just a crazy idea, then one is also a lot more carefree with other people’s money. Maybe we should only vote when we have contributed and not while we still go to school.
