Climate Politics Threatens an Era of Energy Poverty

It’s not only energy poverty thats around the corner. It’s very real all over poverty where people won’t be able to afford the basic necessities of life. Heating will become a luxury, air conditioning as well. Only the very well-heeled will be able to consume those goodies without much thinking. Personal transport will cease to exist for all those that need to live on average wages. Just forget a car – walking will be your new reality. As even the price for public transport will go up. It needs energy too and that will be very expensive.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
