Doubts cast over LNG’s role as future fuel

It’s almost ironic. LNG is the cleanest fuel shipping has ever known by any standards, its very certainly a whole lot cleaner than e-diesel, and yet the ICCT recommends the dirtier fuel over the much cleaner one. Thats where we have gotten ourselves. Coal makes a massive comeback in Europe because of extreme and unrealistic renewable policies. We use middle distillates instead of much cleaner gas. And we cut down old forests and burn them to soothe our falsely busted conscience. We are nothing short of total fools.

Engine slip means methane emissions will still double for shipping voyages in Europe by 2030, even if all fuel is renewably sourced, according to a study by the International Council of Clean Transportation

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
