Energy-Poor Japan Could Set Up a Liquefied Natural Gas Reserve

Thats going to be expensive. Gas is hard to store if you don’t have an underground depleted field available. Japanese geology does not allow for that. Japan is still a pretty large coal user for one single reason – it’s extremely easy to store. You just throw it on a heap. Coal is heat, coal is safety, and coal is comfort. Don’t get me wrong, I love LNG and like to see more LNG investment but I love economics which makes sense even more.
