Enough is Enough: After Nearly 40 Years It’s Time to Slash Massive Subsidies to Wind & Solar

The picture is very misleading. If this bike would be a renewable energy project, the training wheels of the bike would be a good deal bigger than the entire bike itself. Renewable energy gets subsidies on a plethora of levels. It’s not only the direct handouts but here is an entire undercurrent of indirect monetizable advantages like preferred grid access at peak times, free balancing services for when the wind does not blow or the sun does not shine. And the free expansion and reinforcement of the grid that became necessary only for renewables.

One thing you’ll never, ever hear from the crony capitalists profiting from wind and solar is a call to cut the subsidies that sustain them. Remarkably, whether in Germany, Australia, the States or…
