Europe Wants Permanent Gas Buyers Club for Post-Russia Strategy

I almost have a feeling that the situation with Russia and Ukraine was the excuse that everyone was waiting for. Europe very rapidly dismantles its energy markets and goes back to the quasi-monopolies it had before. With the exception that where there were national monopolies before there is a European supermonopoly now. Led by an elite that’s totally unaccountable to the people it is supposed to represent. Maybe, markets are not for Europeans. Maybe we are still the serfs we have always been. Open markets require maturity we seem to lack.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
