Europe’s solar industry warns of bankruptcy risk as prices drop

China has flooded the world with cheap claptrap. This has created the impression that those things are truly this cheap to make when in fact China just throws the welfare of its own people and their environment to the curb and also engages in some of the most brutal trade abuses one can imagine. The true price is the price we would have to pay if those same modules were produced right at home with no subsidies whatsoever. That’s what the European solar industry really wants – subsidies. They don’t want tariffs on Chinese products as this would raise the price on the market which in turn shows people that they don’t really want their wares.
